Which Printing Technique Is Ideal For You?
The success of your poster starts with choosing the printing technique that best suits your needs. Both methods offer their own advantages, and a professional printing house will guide you in the right direction.
Digital Printing: Flexibility and Speed
Digital printing is an excellent solution, especially for low and medium circulation jobs (1-500 pieces), urgent deliveries or personalized posters (with variable data such as numbers and names). Since there is no mold cost, even a single poster can be printed economically. Today's advanced digital printing machines (such as HP Indigo, Canon imagePRESS) deliver vibrant colors and sharp details that are very close to offset quality. It works with CMYK color space and is instantly ready for cutting and finishing thanks to its fast drying feature.
Offset Printing: Economy and Color Consistency in Mass Production
Offset printing provides an unrivaled cost advantage and color consistency in high-circulation poster production of 500 pieces or more. A separate plate is prepared for each color, and thanks to these plates, thousands of posters can be printed with perfect color standardization. Offset printing is the gold standard, especially for corporate campaign posters where brand colors (Pantone colors) must be precisely matched. Production time is longer than digital due to initial mold preparation time, but the cost per piece is much lower.
Paper Selection Determines the Character of Your Poster
Paper is one of the most critical elements that determine the texture, feel and durability of your poster. The right choice multiplies the impact of your message.
- Coated Paper: It is the most commonly used poster paper. Since its surface is coated, it absorbs ink perfectly and the colors come out vibrant and bright. Matte coated offers a sophisticated and easy-to-read surface that does not tire the eyes; Bright (Luminous) coated makes colors appear more vibrant and sparkling. Weight options are available from 115 g/m² to 350 g/m². 170-200 g/m² is ideal for standard posters, while thicker grammages (250 g/m²+) provide a premium feel and better durability.
- Blueback Paper: Especially designed for outdoor and backlit applications. This special paper, which has a blue backing, prevents the passage of light and prevents the text from being read or double-sided in the light coming from behind the poster. It is an indispensable material for billboard and lightbox applications.
- Photo Paper (Pearl/Parchment): Used for artistic works, high-resolution photo prints and premium reproductions. Thanks to its specially coated surface, color depth and contrast are at the highest level. Shiny, matte and silky (pearl) surface options are available.
- Vinyl (PVC): It is a tear-proof material that is completely resistant to water and outdoor weather conditions. Ideal for long-term outdoor applications, vehicle coverings and wet surfaces. It does not need to be laminated, it is a moisture resistant surface.
Choosing the Correct Size and Format
The size of your poster directly affects its visibility and intended use. A and B series dimensions based on international standards (ISO 216) are the most widely used formats.
- A3 (29.7 x 42 cm): Ideal size for desktops, showcases, small billboards and seminar presentations.
- A2 (42 x 59.4 cm): Standard poster size for walls, in-store shelf tops and aisles.
- A1 (59.4 x 84.1 cm): It is frequently preferred in interior spaces, fair stands and educational institutions where high visibility is required.
- A0 (84.1 x 118.9 cm): Used for large wall applications, exhibition posters and eye-catching promotions.
- B1 (70 x 100 cm) / B2 (50 x 70 cm): These are dimensions that are widely used especially for cinema posters and large format promotional posters and offer slightly larger space than the A series.
Of course, it is also possible to produce die-cut posters suitable for your special space or creative design. Our technical team will guide you on the producibility of your dream poster in the special format.
Secrets of Impressive Poster Design
A strong poster must be able to convey its message even from a distance. The basic principles to be considered during the design phase are:
- Visual Hierarchy: Determine where you will draw the viewer's eye first. The main message/headline should be positioned as the most dominant, and the supporting images and texts should be positioned as gradually attracting less attention.
- Simplicity and Clarity: Everything you try to fit on a poster will result in nothing being read. A single strong image, a short and striking headline, and the necessary contact information (date, location, website) are usually sufficient.
- Color Theory and Contrast: Colors stimulate emotions. Use a palette that matches your brand colors. For text readability, ensure high contrast between the background and the text (dark background/light text or vice versa).
- Typography (Font Selection): Decorative fonts can be eye-catching, but they must be legible. It's usually best to choose a strong font for the headline and a simpler, easier-to-read font for the description text. Don't forget to convert fonts to vector or send them embedded in the print file.
- Use of White Space: Space allows the design to breathe. Instead of compressing the image and text, you will get a more stylish and professional look by leaving enough space around it.

Warrior Posters For Outdoor
Outdoor posters must be resistant to sunlight, rain, wind and dust. This durability is achieved with the right materials and protection methods.
- Material: Blueback paper or durable vinyl (PVC) are basic options.
- Printing Ink: Special outdoor inks that are resistant to UV rays and do not fade are used.
- Protection: This is where lamination comes into play. Matte or gloss lamination adds an extra protective layer to the poster surface, increasing resistance to water, scratches and dirt retention. In outdoor applications, lamination with a thickness of 125-200 microns is generally preferred.
- Application: Partial (panel printing) or single-piece large format prints can be made for areas such as billboards, bus stops, megapoles (illuminated panels) and building facades.
Indoor Permitted Power
Indoor posters offer aesthetics and functionality together.
- Corporate Identity: Posters that reinforce brand identity in offices, increase employee motivation or strengthen internal communication.
- Decorative Solutions: Art posters, photographs or typographic works used to create atmosphere in homes, cafes, restaurants or hotel lobbies. It can be offered with framed or edged (canvas stretched) options.
- Information: Posters conveying rules, guidelines or educational content in schools, hospitals, gyms.
Print-Ready File Brings Professional Results
A perfect print starts with a perfectly prepared file. Technical details you should pay attention to in your order:
- Resolution: Your file must have a print resolution of at least 100 dpi (preferably 150 dpi). For example, for a 70x100 cm (B1) poster, it is ideal that your file size is at least 2750x3930 pixels. Lower resolution results in pixelated and blurry images in print.
- Color Mode: All images and design should be prepared in CMYK color mode. Colors in the RGB mode used for the web and monitors may appear faded and different when printed.
- Bleed: If there will be color or visuals up to the edges of the poster, a bleed margin of at least 3 mm should be added to each edge as a cutting allowance. This prevents white edges from remaining due to millimetric shifts that may occur during cutting.
- Safe Area: Important texts and logos should be positioned at least 5 mm from the cutting edge.
- File Format: The most secure and preferred format is PDF/X-1a. In this format, fonts are embedded, images remain at high resolution, and color settings are fixed. High resolution JPEG or TIFF files are also acceptable.
Quality Control Keeps-your-eyes-not-far-from-you

- Pre-Print Check: Your incoming file is checked automatically and manually in technical terms (resolution, color mode, bleed). If there are any shortages, we will contact you.
- Color Management: Our printing machines are calibrated regularly. Pantone guides and digital color meters (spectrophotometer) are used for color matching.
- Control During Printing: Operators constantly monitor color consistency, sharpness and ink distribution during printing.
