Synthetic (Film) Tags

  • Polypropylene (PP) Film: Flexible, moisture and scratch resistant. Available in both transparent and white opaque versions. Suitable for detergent, shampoo bottles and moist environment products.
  • Polyethylene (PE) Film: It is soft and flexible. It is applied on flexible packaging (liquid bags, yoghurt lids).
  • Polyester (PET) Film: It is very resistant to high temperatures, chemicals and scratches. It is used in industrial, automotive and electronic labels that require durability.
  • Vinyl (PVC): It is a very durable and outdoor-friendly material. However, due to their environmental impacts, choices are shifting towards PET and PP.
  • Transparent Film: It creates a stylish effect called "no-label look", where the color and texture of the product stands out and only the print is visible.

Food label printing, beyond aesthetic concerns, is an obligation strictly regulated by the Turkish Food Codex and relevant communiqués. Incorrect or incomplete information may lead to serious sanctions and loss of brand reputation. A professional label supplier must guarantee compliance with this legislation, not just printing.

Among the mandatory information; It includes product name, net quantity, list of ingredients (in descending order), allergen information (highlighted), expiry date/recommended consumption date, batch/lot number, country of origin, company name and address, nutritional declaration (under certain conditions) and special storage/use instructions. All text on the label must be printed in the specified minimum point size (usually 1.2 mm x-height) and in a legible font.

Technically, the inks used on food labels must be "suitable for food contact" and must have passed migration tests. Likewise, adhesives must be selected in accordance with food safety standards (e.g. FDA 21 CFR, BfR). Freezer-resistant labels are preferred for cold chain products, and special lamination (e.g. glossy or matte lamination) labels are preferred for oily or humid products to ensure that the information remains legible.

Design and Material in Cosmetic Labels

In the cosmetics industry, the label directly shapes the perception that the product is luxurious, reliable and effective. The design must be in full harmony with the brand identity and maintain its flawless appearance throughout its shelf life.

Material selection in cosmetic labels is determined according to the usage area of ​​the product. Special finishing processes such as metallized papers, hot foil stamping or embossing are often used in perfume and premium skin care products. For bathroom products such as shower gel and shampoo, water and moisture resistant synthetic film labels (PP, PET) are preferred. Transparent film labels are a stylish solution that highlights the color and texture of the product, especially on glass bottles.

In accordance with the legislation, the ingredient list on cosmetic labels must be stated in international standards with the INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) nomenclature, and the net content amount, expiration date (with the PAO symbol), company information and instructions for use must be clearly stated. Vegan, cruelty-free (not tested on animals), or organic certification logos are critical for conscious consumers and must be positioned correctly. Additionally, QR codes printed on labels to tell the product story or provide a link to an usage video are becoming increasingly common.

Industrial Labels and Durability

Industrial labels operate in much more challenging conditions than office or retail environments. Therefore, the selection of materials, adhesives and inks should be made according to the durability tests required by the application environment.

  • High Temperature Resistant Labels: Polyester (PET) or polyimide film based. It is used in automotive engine compartment parts, soldering processes or high temperature metal surfaces (above 150°C). Contains special adhesives.

Flexo Printing

It is the standard technology of label production with high circulation (tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands). Flexible photopolymer molds are used and continuous printing is done from roll to roll. It is especially successful in the consistency of spot colors (Pantone) and opaque white printing. Economical unit cost provides maximum efficiency in long-term jobs. Today, high resolution printing quality can be achieved with digital flexo machines (CI - Center cylinder).

Digital Print

Ideal for low to medium runs, personalized content or rapid prototyping. Since there is no mold cost, the biggest advantage is that variable data (name, number, sequential barcode) can be printed with each print. While toner-based (Xerox) and inkjet (HP PageWide) systems are common, HP Indigo electro-ink technology in industrial label printing gives the result closest to offset quality and supports a wide color gamut (Pantone Emulation). Digital printing fits perfectly into the "just-in-time production" model.

Offset Printing

It is used for jobs requiring high detail and color accuracy, especially on paper labels and sheet-fed labels. Although it is less preferred than digital printing due to the mold cost in low runs, it can provide quality/cost balance over certain quantities.

Security Labels and Special Solutions

Security labels are vital to prevent imitation and adulteration and to protect the original product. These labels are structures that are difficult to copy due to their visual and physical properties.

  • Hologram Labels: Contains 3D or kinetic images created with laser. Colors and patterns that change depending on the angle cannot be copied with simple photocopying.
